Our voice is stronger than ever. Government leaders are listening and taking action. Since our inception in 2006, the Agricultural Alliance of New Brunswick has stayed on top of issues, working proactively to protect your interests before decisions are made.
Some examples of how proactive Alliance action has benefited your farm operation:
- Without the efforts of the Agricultural Alliance, New Brunswick farmers would have been banned from driving equipment on highways at night and on weekends. Following Agricultural Alliance interventions, the government dropped proposed restrictions.
- New Brunswick farmers will continue to reap savings directly at the gas pump using their Purchaser's Permit. Efforts by the Agricultural Alliance stopped a proposal requiring farmers to apply for the rebates on an annual basis.
- Lobbying efforts at the national level by the Agricultural Alliance, with the help of the Canadian Federation of agriculture, convinced Ottawa that the Agricultural Policy Framework must meet the unique needs of local farmers. Ottawa agreed to consult directly with New Brunswick farmers on how to make that happen.

Agricultural Alliance members can take advantage of free assistance from two of our professional staffers to implement a plan that minimizes environmental risks.
Energy Audits in the Works
The Agricultural Alliance conducted a highly successful pilot project that saw 12 producers benefi t from free energy conservation audits for farms, helping them save hundreds of dollars annually. Planning is in the works to ensure availability of audits for all members.
Group Health Benefits
Agricultural Alliance members have access to health and dental benefi ts as well as life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage.
