Long-Term and Short-Term Strategic GoalsThe Co-ordinating Committee recommends the following long-term goals to be achieved within the next ten (10) years...by the year 2015 and the strategic goals within the next three (3) years by year 2009 Mandate Industry Viability; to improve the viability of the Agricultural Industry Long-Term Goals; to foster continuous improvement of net benefits to agricultural producers Strategic Goals; to promote the value-chain approach to improve sales skills among producers to establish a province-wide collective purchasing program to increase the cost-accounting abilities of producers Voice of Agricultural Producers; to act as the voice of N.B. Agricultural Producers Long-term Goals; to effectively represent the interests of N.B. Agricultural Producers Strategic Goals; to identify priority concerns of agricultural producers to adopt positions on priority agricultural issues to implement an action plan Partnerships; to develop partnerships conducive to the development of the Agricultural Industry Long-Term Goals; to establish effective agreements with key players such as governments, industry and environmental organizations; to establish and industry-wide strategic plan in collaboration with key stakeholders Strategic Goals; to clarify roles of industry institutions to identify key areas of mutual interest to "negotiate" collaborative agreements with 5 key institutions to obtain funding for strategic planning; to implement the plan Policy Development; to recommend legislation, regulations, strategies, policies, programs and standards relative to the advancement of the Agricultural Industry in New Brunswick Long-Term Goals; to have a public policy environment conducive to the advancement of the Agricultural Industry of N.B. Strategic Plan; to obtain a seat at key public planning and policy development committees to identify agricultural policy and program priorities to review public policies Information; to provide reliable information to agricultural producers and encourage active participation in the Organization Long-Term Goals; to improve access to information by agricultural producers; to ensure effective participation of agricultural producers in the Organization Strategic Plan; to implement an information program for agricultural producers to improve electronic communications among producers to promote the Organization among members and potential members to identify and promote the roles of members in their professional organization Professional & Technical Development; to encourage professional and technical development of agricultural producers Long-Term Goals; to improve the professional and technical skills and knowledge of agricultural producers, their personnel and other persons involved in the Agricultural Industry Strategic Goals; to promote the benefits of training and continuous learning to increase government support for training and continuous learning for producers and their personnel to establish an accreditation process for providers of advice to producers Public Image; to ensure a positive public image of the New Brunswick Agricultural Industry Long-Term Goals; to promote a positive image of agricultural producers within and outside the Agricultural Industry Strategic Goals; to document the realities of the industry and its socio-economic importance to the NB society to promote the industry among producers to plan and implement a public communications strategy |
